The Al Oerter Foundation (AOF) is a non-profit organization established to honor the values, character, principles and ideals of late 4-time Olympian Al Oerter. AOF brings together athletes from the Olympics, Paralympics and the sporting world. Through the athletes’ creative talents, AOF provides programs of art, education, sports and cultural outreach to inspire individuals and communities to uphold the virtues of excellence above winning.

This year, in collaboration with the Al Oerter Foundation (AOF) and Art of the Olympians (AOTO), the Foundation is funding a groundbreaking 7-week art-in-sports program for 500 students across 28 schools in Upstate NY—guided by Olympian and Paralympian artists and educators.

Art of the Olympians has sculptors, painters, photographers, poets, writers, musicians and dancers. They work in a variety of styles from abstract to the more traditional and representative. Their creative methods range from improvisational and spontaneous to more traditional processes and techniques.
